Exciting day for catholics in the Diocese of Marquette today as they officially get their new bishop...

Catholic parishioners from throughout the Upper Peninsula are excited about the upcoming episcopal ordination and installation of Bishop-elect John F. Doerfler (pronounced DER-fler) as the thirteenth bishop of the Catholic Diocese of Marquette. It will take place on Tuesday, February 11, 2014, the Memorial of Our Lady of Lourdes, at 2:00 p.m. ET/ 1:00 p.m. CT at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette. Bishop-elect John Doerfler's episcopal ordination and installation will take place at 2 p.m. ET at St. Peter Cathedral in Marquette. Since there is limited seating, admission is by ticket only. However, everyone is welcome to attend the reception for the bishop following the Mass in the cathedral hall. The Mass will be broadcast live on WJMN-TV3, Marquette, EWTN Global Catholic Network and WLCJ, 92.5 FM, Menominee from 2-4:30 p.m. ET. It will also be live streamed via the Internet; visit the Diocese of Marquette's website and click on the banner promoting the telecast. EWTN will replay the telecast at midnight ET. In addition, CatholicTV based in Watertown, Mass. will air the ordination and installation live on its national Catholic broadcast network and on its website at catholictv.com.
