The internet really allows for some great information to be shared and this is another great example of the "good stuff" online. Here's what it's all about...

Every day, if possible, Father plans to post both a written blog and a video blog in which he will share his thoughts and emotions as he journeys through the land where Christ Our Savior walked.

When I read about the lack of faith and morals in our young people, I realize how much work it involves raising a Catholic Family in today's culture. One thing that drives me crazy is that it's hard to see differences between Catholic schools, either elementary, high school or college, and public schools. Some are successful, but others are failing. Just check out these results from The Cardinal Newman Society’s (CNS) Center for the Study of Catholic Higher Education latest study...

Key findings demonstrate that large numbers of students at Catholic colleges and universities are in clear conflict with the Catholic Church:

    - Nearly 1 in 5 knew another student who had or paid for an abortion.
- 46% of current and recent students—and 50% of females—said they engaged in sex outside of marriage.
- 84% said they had friends who engaged in premarital sex.
- 60% agreed strongly or somewhat that abortion should be legal.
- 60% agreed strongly or somewhat that premarital sex is not a sin.
- 78% disagreed strongly or somewhat that using a condom to prevent pregnancy was a serious sin.
- 57% agreed strongly or somewhat that same-sex “marriage” should be legal.
- 57% said the experience of attending a Catholic college or university had no effect on their participation in Mass and the sacrament of reconciliation.
- 54% of respondents said that their experience of attending a Catholic college or university had no effect on their support for the teachings of the Catholic Church.
- 56% said their experience had no effect on their respect for the Pope and bishops.

In April 2008 Pope Benedict XVI, recognizing the reality on many Catholic campuses, told Catholic college presidents gathered at The Catholic University of America that the Catholic faith must permeate all aspects of Catholic campus life.

“Is the faith tangible in our universities and schools?” the Holy Father asked the college presidents. “Only in this way do we really bear witness to the meaning of who we are and what we uphold. From this perspective one can recognize that the contemporary ‘crisis of truth’ is rooted in a ‘crisis of faith’.”

I'm just glad my kids aren't college age yet, as I have no idea where I would be happy seeing them go if they attend college. I understand it's very difficult to eliminate all of this, especially in today's "Culture of Death", but these numbers make me sick.

A great letter from Bishop Arthur Serratelli of Paterson, NJ to his diocese explaining the dangers of the bill titled Freedom of Choice Act (FOCA). For those of you that don't know what it is...

Introduced in the United States Congress in 2004 the bill would remove all restrictions on abortion in the United States, both on the state and federal level. "FOCA goes far beyond guaranteeing the right to an abortion throughout the nine months of pregnancy. It arrogantly prohibits any law or policy interfering with that right," says Bishop Serratelli. This is the "dark reality" kept secret by propagandists for 'choice.'

Bishop Serratelli also talks about how Senator Barack Obama told Planned Parenthood the first thing he would do as president would be to sign this bill. That doesn't sound very good to me.

I haven't had the privilege to see Father Larry Richards or Father John Corapi live, so these two videos below will have to do. I've heard Father Larry's confession talk before, but it's well worth watching again. I was also excited to hear about Father Larry's new book coming out soon titled "Be a Man". It's described as a book "for men and will help them grow into the man that God created them to be".

Father Corapi tells it like it is and below he shares his wonderful conversion story. I have only heard him a handful of times, but I really enjoy his passion and love for our Lord. The condensed version of his conversion story is below.

I just read this announcement from EWTN about a new show called "Crossing the Goal" which will help use sports to help men "get into spiritual shape". Here's the synopsis...

Danny Abramowicz, former NFL all-pro wide receiver and coach, has created a television show with EWTN Global Catholic Network called “Crossing the Goal,” which uses a sports show format to encourage men to get into spiritual shape.

“On this show, we talk to men about the things that are happening in their lives right now and we challenge them to do something about it,” said Abramowicz, who played for the New Orleans Saints and the 49ers. “Guys respond to a challenge. The Lord will help them, but they have to admit that something is not right in their life.”

Anytime you can get more men to increase their faith is a good thing. I hope they have lots of success!

I'll admin when I first read about the show I thought it was a different Curtis Martin co-hosting.

LifeSiteNews.com featured a guest commentary by Rev. John A. Corapi that gives a brief look back at the history of the United States and ahead to the future based on our decisions about contraception and abortion. It's not a pretty picture.

From artificial contraception to abortion to partial-birth abortion, then on to infanticide we march toward the abyss of oblivion, a society marked for death. Is it any wonder we can rationalize the killing of the elderly or the sick through euthanasia?
